About Us!

Genshiken was established durring the second semester of School year 2006-2007 as not much more than just a joke to see if an anime org could be assembled. Over the years though Genshiken has grown into a serious org with roughly 100 members, but just what exactly IS Genshiken? To sum it up, we are a group of people with a vast array of talents and interests that have organized to better develope ourselves, and share our loves with others.

Contrary to popular misconception Genshiken is NOT an org of artists. Not all of our members have exceptional artistic ablility. Many of us actually can’t draw at all, but if that is true , what then composes an organization centered around anime and video games? People that like them; people that enjoy watching and playing.  Though that is the main focus of Genshikens body its not the only point of interest. Genshikens scope is as big as there are members.

Most view Genshiken members as immature people that refuse to frow up because we like watching “cartoons”, but where else can you find heated discussions on economy, politics, and scicial problems such as premarital sex, abortion, divorce. In fact it is because of anime that most of us can discuss these openly in a mature fashion. In fact you would be pressed to find such in depth deep conversations elsewhere.

As stated above Genshiken is comprised of many members with all sorts of interests. All of our members are friendly and open to those who might want to join.
