Genshiken History

Genshiken was established in the Second semester of School year ‘06-’07… Confiming the rest… Sorry for the inconvinience.

Mission and Vision

Genshiken aims to be a place where those with interest in modern visual culture can gather and share their love. We also hope to help our members develope their talents in their respective fields, while at the same time plant the seed of the Lasallian Principals of Religio, Mores, and Cultura.

Committies

Cosplay

Cosplayers of Genshiken, This committee is in charge of producing Cosplayers to represent Genshiken in both inside and outside (the school) activities. They also sever as the actors and actresses of Genshiken, performing in conventions (Group Cosplay Skits), Activities, and other places where a skit, or performance is needed.

Art

Genshikens Arts Committee is aimed towards honing, and refining the artistic talents of those who are talented in the creation/generation of visuals. Despite common belief this committee is not restricted to art on paper, but also include Photoshop art, MS Paint, Photography, and all other forms of image generation. This Committee is also charged with the production of Images to be used by Genshiken for advertising, and other projects.

Performance

The singers, dancers, actors, and musicians of Genshiken. The Performance Committee serves to develop the on stage skills of Genshikens members and provide Performers for Genshiken whenever the need for them is present. This Committee is divided into 2 parts; Dancers,  and Band/Singers.

The Dancers serve to develop have only recently been established, and so not much can be said about them at this time, though it can be assumed that their dances will be put to anime themes, or other J-music.

The Band, which plays mostly J-rock, J-pop, and Visual-Kei, serves to develop the musical talents of Genshikens members, and represents Genshiken in battle of the band competitions that have Anime themes.

Publications

Publications Committee serves to train those interested in all forms of writing including. They also serve as the news team, and general writers of Genshiken. They are charged with the responsibility of providing up-to-date information on upcoming activities that fall under the category of “Modern Visual Culture”, and reporting on activities that have already finished.

Events Management

Man power of Genshiken, this committee serves as the Human Resources reserve. They are charged with the job of preperation for activities, and clean up afterward, along with making sure that the activity runs smoothly all the way through. On a less glamourous note they aslo serve as the pack-mules of Genshiken carrying all different kinds of luggage ranging from costumes, to instruments, to props, and what ever else needs to be carried.
