CBA 401,12:00-2:00,Sept 16,2009 — It was pretty hot that day, but there were alot of Genshiken members and other invited people to stay and study with the Genshiken people. Still, Key Ann-sensei was the speaker for the seminar. This time, the listeners were taught of new things.
As always, the seminar started with a bow, as a sign of respect and gratitude. A short clip about Japan, it’s seasons, culture, and people was shown. The video clip made the audience be eager to go to visit and learn more about Japan.
The audience were told to speak out their “???????? (Jikoushoukai)” or the “self Introduction”
For those who didn’t make it, it’s like this:
Minna-san Konichiwa
Watashi wa _______ desu/to moushimasu.
_(your country)-jin_desu.
_(Your school)_ no gakusei desu.
Dozou Yoroshiku.
_(Your country)_ kara Kimashite.
Translation:
Everyone, good afternoon.
I am _______.
I am a _(nationality/country)_
I am a student at _(your school)_.
Please take care of me from now on.
I came from _(Your country)_
Example:
In English:
Everyone, good afternoon.
I am Chris
I am a Filipino
I am a Student in De La Salle-Dasma
I came from the Philippines.
In Japanese:
Minna-san Konichiwa
Watashi wa Chris desu.
Firipin-jin desu.
De La Salle no gakusei desu.
Understand a little bit better?
The listeners were also taught how to give their calling cards the Japanese way. It’s pretty hard at first, but when you try it for yourself, it’s pretty fun actually. Japanese usually turn the calling cards, their name facing (in the Calling card) the other person. It is somewhat like presenting yourself to others, just only giving something that he’ll remember abut yourself.
Also, the attendees were made to recite the Japanese numbers from 1 to 10,000. It becomes pretty hard in the ‘Hundreds’ part of the counting. Here’s a technique on how to say the numbers without getting lost. Use the “Ones, tenths, Hundreds..”
Like this:
10,000+1,000+100+10+1
At the end, the attendees were made to watch a Japanese Lesson, which has been shown in the NHK channel. It was a review of the Jikoushoukai or self-introduction.
The 2nd Nihongo Seminar was a blast! New things were learned about Japan, how the society speak, and interact to each other.
Stay tuned for the last part of the Nihonggo Seminar and an exam awaits for the last part. So, minna-san…
…Benkyoushimasu!!!
